Community Ice Times (Family Skate/Shinny)
Learn to Skate - Adults New this year will be a Learn to Skate program for adults Only! The program consists of 50 minutes of ice time split up into 25 minutes of instruction and 25 minutes of practice time. The Instructor will divide the group bases on their ability. Sundays: 3:00 - 4:00pm January 17th - March 7th $65 - Military Community $75 - General Public
Learn to Skate for Youngsters (4 - 7 years) This program is divided into 4 levels. Skaters will learn forward skating, backward skating, turning and stopping. There are no formal "testing sessions" for learn to skate. Participants will receive 25 minutes of instruction and 25 minutes of practice time and will be evaluated weekly by their coach. Fridays: January 15th - March 6th $65 - Military Community $75 - General Public
Learn to Skate - 8 to 16 yrs Have you ever wanted to learn to ice skate? Or havent laced up the skates in awhile and are feeling a little rusty? Why not come out and give it a try? This is a great time for parents and children to learn to skate together. The program consists 25 minutes of instruction and 25 minutes of practice time. Power Skating for Kids Power Skating provides instruction to co-ed skaters, such as power development, power strides, starting, stopping, lateral mobility and power drills. This program will benefit for kids who play hockey. Skaters must be at least 5 years old, be able to skate forwards, backwards and be able to come to a stop (without running into the boards). Skaters will be broken up into groups depending on age, skills and ability. Hockey Skills and Drills A program for hockey players to practice drills and develop new skills. Keys in on individual skills, small groups of 4-6 players per instructor. *Important: This is not a power skating or learn to skate program. It is designed to improve individual skills advancing you to the next level. Pre-requisites: 9-16 years of age and must have complete command of balance on skates.
