Military Fitness Programs

The following is a list of the PT classes (and a brief description where necessary) we offer to base units:

Combat Fitness Program: The Combat Fitness Program is our Military Fitness Program which combines various Olympic style lifts with basic gymnastic movements and some cardio, to give a superior strength and conditioning workout.

Pool Training: A pool class where we develop various circuit workouts to the needs of the unit. We also offer Stroke Improvement Classes.

Tai Box: An intense workout that combines punching, kicking, skipping and other full-body conditioning exercises.

Circuit Training Classes: These incorporate many different types of exercises to acheive an intense, full body workout.

Body Bar Class: A unique exercise class focused around stretching, resistance training and balance with the use of Body Bars.

Gears: Power Cycling Classes that use specialized stationary bicycles that can simulate off-road cycling, road racing and hill climbing.

Core Stability: An exercise class based around the musculature of the lower torso and posterior legs.

Plyometrics: A high intensity training program used to increase explosive power, quickness, speed and jumping ability while gaining greater coordination, body control and balance.

SPAM: = Speed +Power + Agility + Muscular Conditioning. A class offering a little bit of everything.

Pilates & Yoga classes: Similar yet different. Both classes will focus on balance and stamina. Pilates' emphasis is on core musculature and Yoga's emphasis is on total body stretching. Both classes are great for prevention of injury.

BOSU Ball Classes: = BOth Sides Up
This challenging fitness tool will stimulate your core, improve your balance and add a new element to old fitness routines! The BOSU is used in combination with resistance equipment or body weight.

We provide information related to health and fitness; create in-house circuit routines and other fitness specific programs.

Another important part of our fitness division is our Get F.I.T. (Fun Interactive Training) program, which we offer to CF members who may have been injured, or are on a fitness development. This program helps us to monitor their progress and supplement their recovery in conjunction with physiotherapy appointments by providing them with training plans to get them back on track.

We aslo develop personal training programs for CF members and civilians. We like to set up intake appointments to discuss various training goals and to get a better sense of the member or client needs.

Another part of our daily routine is testing. We do specialty testing on a variety of levels. We are in charge of the JTF2 testing, Sar-Tech, CSOR, BMSS and regular CF EX PRES testing for our military members.

Community - Our annual Terry Fox Run is a community and Base event that continues to raise significant funds for cancer research.

Our Youth Weight Training Clinics are offered throughout the year to give adolescents and teens an opportunity to use our facility and receive education on training principles to enhance their conditioning and help them to safely and effectively participate in strength and cardiovascular training.

We serve and accomodate everyone on Base and are always open to developing new classes and offering various services.
